Boundary Waters Connect has been hosting meet-and-greets and mixers and socials to help connect Ely residents with one another since 2022. It is now time for us to cast a wider net and create opportunities for neighbors to get to know one another on a regional level.
We are honored to be collaborating with our Hello Neighbor sponsor, Potluck Kitchenware, and our friends M Baxley and DJ Angel of Grand Marais to host a Hello Neighbor, Let's Dance party on Saturday, May 30.

Folks from around northeast Minnesota are invited to come to Ely for a day of sightseeing and shopping. We encourage to drive to Ely in the morning, and make it into town in time for lunch. Consider dining in one of our locally owned restaurants, and enjoying the many locally owned businesses in downtown Ely.
We'll convene at the Ely Folk School for dinner at 6:00pm. Local attendees are encouraged (but not required) to contribute food potluck style. Kelsey Lee, owner of Potluck Kitchenware, will be hosting this free community dinner featuring pasta dishes prepared by Sheridan Street Deli.
Following dinner, guests are invited out to the Huck for a dance party featuring DJ Angel. The Huckleberry Housing Community (aka The Huck) is a housing option featuring individual homes and apartments located at 13412 Ironwood Rd in Ely, MN. The Huck has hosted Huck Fest and other community events on their property on White Iron Lake, and the folks of the Huck are excited to welcome guests from around the region for this gathering.
Attendees are welcome to bring a tent and camp on the lawn next to White Iron Lake (we'll have a porta-potty on site). Guests are also welcome to complete this Ely-area homestay interest form if they'd like a proper bedroom. And, of course, you're always welcome to book a room via any of the local hotels, resorts, AirBnB's and VRBO's.
Furthermore, let us know if you're based in Ely and interested in serving as a homestay host.
